Hockey Qld will run the training workshops on
Friday 28th - Seniors- 6:00pm start at Murwillumbah Club house
Saturday 29th - Juniors 8:oo am at Murwillumbah Club house
A firm commitment is required as attending numbers are relevant to the number of trainers needed.
There will be no fees for this course.
As we are in a rebuilding stage for umpires in our competition, it is not planned that higher levels of umpiring will be considered at this stage. However, if you wish to take on higher levels, please contact Ross Salmon or Bob Santilli and they will see if your needs can be met, either locally or from nearby associations.
Intending umpires will need to meet the pre-requisites of completing one of the HockeyEd (www.hockey.org.au) Foundation Support Umpiring Courses before the end of June.
The Foundation Support Umpire is the first accreditation in the umpiring framework and is aimed at providing prospective umpires with an introduction to the game's fundamental rules.
This FREE accreditation is completed entirely online and can be done in the comfort of your own home. It will take approximately 2 hours to complete, and you receive your certificate at the end!
The Foundation Lead (level 1) Umpire is the second accreditation in the umpiring framework and is targeted at supporting umpires who want to create positive environments for participants and take the lead on the field. The fee for this course is $50 payable to HA.
This accreditation is completed in two parts. The first is an online course that can be completed at any time. Then the second is your assessment, which must be undertaken whilst umpiring a full-field game of hockey. The Foundation Lead Umpire Accreditation is valid for 3 years from the date of completion.
